At the 8th of April 2016 I visited Crocosaurus Cove in the heart of Darwin. There I was allowed to join a VIP tour with a couple, where I fed crocodiles and handled some reptiles. After the tour I looked at the rest of the zoo. It was an awesome day and the guides where very good too.
Am Abend fuhr ich noch zu einer Rest Area außerhalb von Darwin, wo ich die Nach verbrachte.
In the evening I drove to a rest area outside of Darwin where I spent the night.
Am nächsten Tag (09.04.16) fuhr ich in den Kakadu Nationalpark. Nachdem ich das Bowali Visitor Centre besucht hatte fuhr ich in die East Alligator Region, wo ich als erstes den Bardedjilidji Walk entlangwanderte.
The next day (09/04/16) I drove into the Kakadu National Park. After my visit to the Bowali Visitor Centre I drove into the East Alligator region, where I first did the Bardedjilidji Walk.
Anschließend fuhr ich zum Ubirr Rock, wo ich den Rundweg entlangwanderte, mir die Felsmalereien der Aborigines ansah und zum Nadab Lookout hochlief, von wo aus man einen schönen Blick über die Überflutungsflächen hat.
After that I drove to Ubirr Rock where I walked along the loop walk, looked at the rock art of the aboriginals and walked up to the Nadab Lookout, where you have a nice view over the floodplains.
Nach einer langen Mittagspause lief ich abends nochmal zum Lookout um mir den Sonnenuntergang anzusehen.
After a Long lunch break I walked to the lookout again to watch the sunset.
Die Nacht verbrachte ich in Jabiru.
I spent the night in Jabiru.
Am nächsten Morgen (10.04.16) fuhr ich von Jabiru zum Nourlangie Rock, um dort den Circular Walk, inklusive Felsmalereien und Lookout, zu machen.
The next morning (10/04/16) I drove from Jabiru to Nourlangie Rock to do the Circular Walk, including rock art and lookout.
Anschließend fuhr ich zum Nawurlandja Lookout und lief zu diesem hoch.
Afterwards I drove to the Nawurlandja Lookout and walked up to it.
Die letzte Wanderung an diesem Tag machte ich zum Mirrai Lookout.
The last walk I did this day was to the Mirrai Lookout.
Anschließend fuhr ich nach Cooinda, besuchte das Warradjan Aboriginal Cultural Centre und verbrachte den Rest des Tages auf dem dortigen Campingplatz.
After that I drove to Cooinda, visited the Warradjan Aboriginal Cultural Centre and spent the rest of the day at the local camp ground.
Am 11.04.16 fuhr ich dann von Cooinda durch den Kakadu Nationalpark zu den Edith Falls im Nitmiluk (Katherine Gorge) Nationalpark und wanderte dort den Leliyn Trail, inklusive Lookouts, entlang.
At the 11th of April 2016 I drove from Cooinda through the Kakadu National Park to the Edith Falls in Nitmiluk (Katherine Gorge) National Park and walked along the Leliyn Trail, including the lookouts.
Danach fuhr ich, mit einem Zwischenstopp in Katherine, nach Mataranka, wo ich auch die Nacht verbrachte.
After that I drove, with a stopover in Katherine, to Mataranka, where I also spent the night.
Heute (12.04.16) habe ich am Campingplatz in Mataranka einen Mertenswaran gesehen und die Barramundis gefüttert. Anschließend bin ich zu den Bitter Springs im Elsey Nationalpark gefahren und habe dort einen kleine Rundwanderung um die Bitter Springs gemacht. Den Rest des Tages habe ich auf dem Campingplatz, u.a. am Pool, verbracht und werde auch den Rest des Tages dort verbringen.
Today (12/04/16) I saw a mertens' goanna and fed the barramundis at the camp ground in Mataranka. Afterwards I drove to the Bitter Springs inside the Elsey National Park and did a short circular walk around the Bitter Springs there. The rest of the day I spent at the camp ground, including the pool, and will spend the rest of the day there.
