Daintree River Cruises, Mossman Gorge (Daintree National Park Part 2) & Newell Beach

Am 28.04.16 habe ich an einer River Cruise auf dem Daintree River teilgenommen. Die River Cruise war in zwei Bootsfahrten geteilt. Die erste startete morgens in Daintree und führte entlang des Daintree River durch den Regenwald. Während dieser Tour habe ich einen jungen Amethystpython und zwei große Salzwasserkrokodile gesehen. Außerdem hatte es sich ein Riesenlaubfrosch unter einem Sitz des Bootes bequem gemacht. Bei dieser Fahrt war die Gruppe sehr klein.
At the 28th of April 2016 I joined a river cruise on the Daintree River. The river cruise was split in to Cruises. The first cruise departed in Daintree and followed the Daintree River through the rainforest. During this tour I saw a young scrub python and two big saltwater crocodiles. Besides this a white-lipped tree frog made himself comfortable under a seat on the boat. The group during this tour was very small.

Anschließend fuhr ich zum Daintree Gateway nahe der Fähre, wo die zweite Tour startete. Diese führte durch die Mangroven am Daintree River. Während der Fahrt sah ich mehrere Krokodile, vom Schlüpfling bis zum großen Männchen. Bei dieser Tour war die Gruppe sehr groß. Bei beiden Touren waren die Guides gut und sie dauerten je eine Stunde.
Afterwards I drove to Daintree Gateway near the ferry, where the second tour departed. This tour led through the mangroves at the Daintree River. During the cruise I saw a couple of crocodiles, from a hatchling all the way to big males. The group at this tour was very large. The guides at both tours were good and each tour took about an hour.

Nach der Bootstour fuhr ich zurück nach Daintree, wo ich den Rest des Tages und die Nacht verbrachte.
After the river cruise I drove back to Daintree, where I spent the rest of the day and the night.

Am nächsten Tag (29.04.16) fuhr ich zum Mossman Gorge Visitor Centre. Von dort aus ging es mit dem Shuttlebus zur Mossman Gorge im Daintree Nationalpark. Dort angekommen begann ich meine Wanderung entlang des Lower River Track mit verschiedenen Aussichtspunkten. Nachdem ich meine Wanderung zweimal wegen Regens abbrechen musste entschloss ich mich mit dem Bus zurück zum Visitor Centre zu fahren und dort auf besseres Wetter zu warten. Währenddessen trank ich einen Daintreetee im dortigen Cafe.
The next day (29.04.16) I drove to the Mossman Gorge Visitor Centre. From there I took the shuttle bus to Mossman Gorge inside Daintree National Park. After my Arrival there I started my walk along the Lower River track including different lookouts. After I had to stop my walk twice due to rain I decided to take the bus back to the visitor centre and to wait for better weather there. Meanwhile I drank a daintree tea in the local cafe.

Nachdem das Wetter besser geworden war fuhr ich mit dem Shuttlebus wieder zur Mossman Gorge und setzte meine Wanderung fort. Diese führte entlang des Boardwalks, über die Rex Creek Suspension Bridge zum Rainforest Circuit Track. Nach dem Rainforest Circuit Track ging es zurück zur Bushaltestelle, wo ich mit dem Shuttlebus zurück zum Visitor Centre fuhr.
After the weather got better I took the shuttle bus to Mossman Gorge again and continued my walk. It led along the boardwalk, across the Rex Creek Suspension Bridge to the Rainforest Circuit Track. After the Rainforest Circuit Track I went back to the bus stop and took the bus back to the visitor centre.

Anschließend fuhr ich nach Mossman, wo ich auf dem örtlichen Campingplatz eincheckte, im Schwimmbad schwimmen ging und danach den Rest des Tages auf dem Campingplatz verbrachte.
Afterwards I drove to Mossman, where I checked in at the local camp ground, went for a swim in the local community pool and then spent the rest of the day at the camp ground.

Heute (30.04.16) besuchte ich morgens den Markt in Mossman. Anschließend furh ich nach Newell Beach, wo ich auf dem Campingplatz fast direkt am Strand eincheckte. Nachdem ich einige Sachen erledigt hatte, machte ich einen langen Strandspaziergang.
Today (30/04/16) I visited the market in Mossman. After that I drove to Newell Beach, where I checked in at the camp ground very close to the beach. After I completed some stuff I went for a Long walk at the beach.

Atherton Tablelands Part 2, Kuranda & Cape Tribulation (Daintree National Park Part 1)

Am 23.04.16 fuhr ich in den Curtain Fig Nationalpark, wo ich den Board Walk zum Curtain Fig Tree entlanglief.
At the 23rd of April I drove to Curtain Fig National Park, where I walked along the board walk to the Curtain Fig Tree.

Anschließend fuhr ich nach Yungaburra und besuchte dort das Visitor Centre. Anschließend fuhr ich in den Crater Lakes National Park zum Lake Barrine, wo ich eine Wanderung um den See machte, welche durch Regenwald führte.
Afterwards I drove to Yungaburra and visited the visitor centre there. Afterwards I drove to Crater Lakes National Park to Lake Barrine where I did a walk around the lake which led through rainforest.

Danach ging es zurück nach Yungaburra, wo ich den Peterson Creek Wildlife & Botanical Walk zum Teil entlanglief. Am Nachmittag gings dann zurück nach Atherton, wo ich den restlichen Tag auf dem Campingplatz verbrachte.
After that I drove back to Yungaburra where I walked a part of the Peterson Creek Wildlife & Botanical Walk. In the afternoon I went back to Atherton where I spent the rest of the day at the camp ground.

Am Folgetag (24.04.16) fuhr ich zum Granite Gorge Nature Park. Dort wanderte ich durch den Park und sah Felswallabys.
The next day (24/04/16) I drove to Granite Gorge Nature Park. I hiked trough the park and saw rock wallabys.

Anschließend fuhr ich nach Mareeba, wo ich dem Heritage Museum & Visitor Centre einen kurzen Besuch abstattete. Danach ging es direkt weiter nach Kuranda. In Kuranda besuchte ich die Australian Butterfly Sanctuary, ein großes Schmetterlingshaus mit integrierter Zuchtstation. Dort nahm ich auch an einer geführten Tour teil. Die Nacht verbrachte ich auf einem Campingplatz in Kuranda.
Afterwards I drove to Mareeba. There I visited the Heritage Museum & Visitor Centre for a short time. After that I continued my drive to Kuranda. In Kuranda I visited the Australian Butterfly Sanctuary, a big butterlfy green house with an included breeding laboratory. I also joint a guided tour there. I spent the night at a camp ground in Kuranda.

Am 25.04.16 fuhr ich in den Barron Gorge Nationalpark. Hier lief ich den Boardwalk zu den Aussichtspunkten an den Barron Falls entlang, sah mir die Barron Falls an, fuhr zum Wrights Lookout, von wo aus man bis nach Cairns sehen kann, und wanderte ein kleines Stück des Surprise Creek Track entlang, bevor ich die Wanderung wegen Regens abbrechen musste.
At the 25th of April 2016 I drove to Barron Gorge National Park. Here I walked along the boardwalk to the lookouts at the Barron Falls, looked at the Barron Falls, drove to Wrights Lookout, from where you can see all the way to Cairns, and walked along a part of Surprise Creek Track before I had to stop the walk due to rain.

Danach fuhr ich nach Kuranda, ging dort durch das kleine Städtchen und besuchte sowohl die Kuranda Heritage Markets, als auch die Original Kuranda Rainforest Markets, um nach Souvenirs zu gucken.
After that I drove to Kuranda, walked through the small town and visited the Kuranda Heritage Markets and the Original Kuranda Rainforest Markets to look for souvenirs.

Am frühen Nachmittag fuhr ich dann nach Port Douglas, wo ich ein paar Sachen erledigte und den Rest des Tages auf einem Campingplatz verbrachte.
In the early afternoon I drove to Port Douglas where I did some daily stuff and spent the rest of the day at the camp ground.

Gestern (26.04.16) fuhr ich Richtung Cape Tribulation in den Daintree Nationalpark. Dafür musste ich den Daintree River mit einer Fähre überqueren. Als erstes besuchte ich Heights of Alexandra Lookout und machte dort eine kleine Pause. Anschließend fuhr ich nach Jindalba im Daintree Nationalpark, wo ich den Board Walk und den Loop Walk entlangwanderte. Leider fing es während des Loop Walks an zu regnen.
Yesterday (26/04/16) I drove direction Cape Tribulation into the Daintree National Park. I had to cross the Daintree River with a ferry for that. At first I visited Heights of Alexandra Lookout and made a short break there. Afterwards I drove to Jindalba inside Daintree National Park where I did the boardwalk and the loop walk. Sadly it started raining during the loop walk.

Aufgrund des schlechten Wetters fuhr ich danach zum Campingplatz ganz in der Nähe, wo ich den Rest des Tages verbrachte.
Because of the bad weather I drove to the Close camp ground after that and spent the rest of the day at the camp ground.

Heute (27.04.16) fuhr ich zum Cape Tribulation. Auf den Weg zum Cape stoppte ich am Marrdja Boardwalk und dem Dubuji Boardwalk, beide im Daintree Nationalpark, und lief diese entlang. Nach dem Dubuji Boardwalk lief ich noch etwas am Myall Beach entlang.
Today (27/04/16) I drove to Cape Tribulation. On my way to the cape I stopped at the Marrdja Boardwalk and the Dubuji Boardwalk and walked these walks. After the Dubuji Boardwalk I walked a bit along Myall Beach.

Anschließend fuhr ich zum Cape Tribulation, wo ich zum Kulki Lookout lief und den Cape Tribulation Beach entlanglief.
Afterwards I drove to Cape Tribulation where I walked to Kulki Lookout and walked along Cape Tribulation Beach.

Danach ging es zurück zum Myall Beach. Diesen lief ich bis zum Cape Tribulation entlang.
After that I went back to Myall Beach. I walked along the beach all the way to Cape Tribulation

Auf dem Rückweg zur Fähre machte ich noch einen Abstecher zum Thornton Beach und hielt nochmal am Heights of Alexandra Lookout an.
On my way back to the Ferry I made a short side trip to Thornton Beach and stopped at Heights of Alexandra Lookout again.

Anschließend ging es mit der Fähre zurück auf die andere Seite des Daintree Rivers. Ich fuhr dann noch nach Daintree Village, wo ich den Rest des Tages auf einem Campingplatz verbringen werde.
Afterwards I took the Ferry back to the other side of Daintree River. Then I drove to Daintree Village where I will spend the rest of the day at a camp ground.
