At the 13th of May 2016 I drove to Mena Creek to Paronella Park. Jose Paronella built a couple of ,,castles'' with his hands in the 1930th there. At first I joined the The Dream Continues Tour, where the history of the park was explained. After that I explored the park on my own and fed turtles, fish and eels.
Am Abend nahm ich dann noch an der The Darkness Falls Tour teil, wo die Wasserfälle und Gebäude schön beleuchtet waren. Die Nacht verbrachte ich auf dem zum Park gehörigen Campingplatz.
In the evening I then joined the The Darkness Falls Tour, where the waterfalls and buildings were lit up beautifully. I spent the night at the camp ground of the park.
Am nächsten Morgen (14.05.16) nahm ich noch an der Hydro Tour teil, wo das Wasserkraftwerk des Parks erklärt wurde.
The next morning (14/05/16) I joined the Hydro Tour, where the hydroelectric turbine of the park was explained.
Anschließend fuhr ich nach Mission Beach. Auf dem Weg dorthin machte ich noch eine kurze Wanderung durch den Djiru Nationalpark.
After that I drove to Mission Beach. On my way to there I did a short walk through the Djiru National Park.
In Mission Beach besuchte ich das Visitor Centre, lief von dort zum Clump Point (mit Aussichtspunkt) und von dort durch Regenwald und Mangroven zum Narragon Beach. Anschließend lief ich zurück und machte einen langen Strandspaziergang am Mission Beach.
In Mission Beach I visited the Visitor Centre, walked from there to Clump Point (with lookout) and from there trhough rainforest and mangroves to Narragon Beach. Afterwards I walked back and did a long walk along Mission Beach.
Am Nachmittag fuhr ich noch nach Ingham, wo ich die Nacht auf einer Rest Area verbrachte.
In the afternoon I drove to Ingham, where I spent the night at a rest area.
Gestern (15.05.16) war ich in Townsville, wo ich als erstes den Flinders Street Market besuchte. Anschließend fuhr ich zur Marina, von wo aus ich die Strandpromenade ,,The Strand`` entlanglief und an dessen Ende ich Kissing Point Lookout und die Jezzine Barracks besuchte, sowie den Coastal Boardwalk entlanglief.
Yesterday (15/05/16) I was in Townsville, where I first visited the Flinders Street Market. Afterwards I drove to the marina, from where I walked along the shore promenade 'The Strand' and at it's end I visited Kissing Point Lookout, the Jezzine Barracks and walked along the Coastal Boardwalk.
Danach fuhr ich zum Castle Hill, von wo aus man einen tollen Blick über Townsville und Magnetic Island hat. Dort machte ich einen kleinen Rundgang, um von allen Aussichtspunkten den Ausblick zu genießen.
After that I drove to Castle Hill, where you have a beautiful view over Townsville and Magnetic Island. There I did a short round walk to enjoy the view from all lookout points.
Am frühen Abend fuhr ich dann noch nach Home Hill, wo ich die Nacht auf einer Rest Area verbrachte.
In the early evening I then drove to Home Hill, where I spent the night at a rest area.
Heute (16.05.16) fuhr ich, mit einem kurzen Stopp am Meer nahe Bowen, nach Proserpine, wo ich den Tag auf dem dortigen Campingplatz und im angrenzenden Freibad verbringe. Auch die Nacht werde ich hier verbringen.
Today (16/05/16) I drove, with a short stopover at the sea near Bowen, to Proserpine, where I am spending the day at the local camp ground and in the public swimming pool next door. I will also spend the night here.
