Brisbane Southbank, Morelia Magic & K Brothers Pythons

Am 25.05.16 fuhr ich nach Brisbane. Auf der Fahrt machte ich einen Stopp in Gympie, setzte mich dort in den Memorial Park und las etwas. Anschließend setzte ich meine Fahrt nach Brisbane fort. Die Nacht verbrachte ich auf dem Hinterhof einer Autowerkstatt.
At the 25th of May 2016 I drove to Brisbane. During the drive I stopped in Gympie, sat down in the Memorial Park and read a bit. Afterwards I continued my drive to Brisbane. I spent the night on the back yard behind a service Garage.

Am nächsten Morgen (26.05.16) gab ich mein Auto in der Werkstatt für den Basic Service ab. Während der Service gemacht wurde lief ich zur Southbank in Brisbane und verbrachte dort den Vor- und Nachmittag. Anschließend holte ich mein Auto wieder ab und fuhr zu einer Rest Area in Beenleigh, wo ich die Nacht verbrachte.
The next morning (26/05/16) I brought my car to the service Garage for the basic Service. During the time the basic service was done I walked to Southbank in Brisbane and spent the morning and the afternoon there. Later I picked up my car and drove to a rest area in Beenleigh, where I spent the night.

Am nächsten Tag (27.05.16) fuhr ich nach Carbrook zu einem Campingplatz und verbrachte dort den Tag. Zwischendurch ging ich kurz zum angrenzenden See.
The next day (27/05/16) I drove to Carbrook to a camp ground and spent my day there. Occassionally I walked to the lake next to the camp ground.

Vorgestern (28.05.16) fuhr ich nach einem kurzen Abstecher nach Shailer Park und Oxley ins Lockyer Valley und verbrachte den Nachmittag im Busch am Stadtrand und nutzte die Zeit zum lesen.
The day before yesterday (28/05/16) I drove with short side trips to Shailer Park and Oxley into the Lockyer Valley and spent the afternoon in the bush next to a town and used the time for reading.

Am Abend besuchte ich Wayne Larks von Morelia Magic bei sich zu Hause. Dort zeigte er mir und Kunden, welche gerade Tiere abholten, einige seiner Tiere (Oliv-, Schwarzkopf- und Rautenpythons), welche absolut wunderschön waren. Im Laufe des Abends unterhielt ich mich mit Deb (Waynes Frau) und Wayne über Reptilien. Die Nacht durfte ich in ihrer Einfahrt schlafen.
In the evening I visited Wayne Larks from Morelia Magic at his place. There he showed me and customers, who picked up animals, some of his animals (olive, black headed and carpet Pythons), which were absolutely beautiful. During the evening I talked with Deb (Waynes wife) and Wayne about reptiles. I was allowed to spent the night in their drive way.

Wayne und ich/Wayne and I


Am nächsten Morgen (29/05/16) unterhielt ich mich wieder mit Deb und Wayne, schaute mir die Außenanlagen für die Buntwarane und Perenties an und bekam die Chance einen jungen Perentie von Wayne zu halten.
The next morning (29/05/16) I talked with Deb and Wayne again, looked at the outside enclosures for the lace monitors and perenties and got the chance to hold a young perentie from Wayne.

Mittags fuhren Deb und Wayne mit mir zu Troy Kuligowski von K Brothers Pythons, einem Freund der beiden. Dort hatte ich die Ehre mir den Bestand von Troy angucken zu dürfen. Dieser besteht aus Schwarzkopf-, Rauten- und Olivpythons. Troy hat echt einige sehr schöne Tiere. Anschließend haben wir uns alle in den Garten gesetzt und uns lange unterhalten.
At around noon Deb and Wayne drove with me to Troy Kuligowski from K Brothers Pythons, a friend of them. There I had the pleasure to look at Troy's collection. It consists of black headed, carpet and olive pythons. Troy really has some stunning animals. Afterwards we all sat down in the back yard and talked for a long time.

Troy und ich/Troy and I

Nachdem wir uns verabschiedet hatten und zurück zu Deb und Wayne gefahren waren, fuhr ich nach Ipswich, wo ich die Nacht auf einem Campingplatz verbrachte.
After we said goodbye and went back to Deb's and Wayne's place, I drove to Ipswich, where I spent the night at a camp ground.

Heute (30.05.16) fuhr ich nach Redcliffe, wo ich auf einem Campingplatz eingecheckt habe und anschließend am Wasser und an der Marina entlanggelaufen bin.
Today (30/05/16) I drove to Redcliffe, where I checked in at a camp ground and walked along the Waters edge and the marina afterwards.

Den restlichen Nachmittag werde ich auf dem Campingplatz verbringen und heute Abend hole ich eine Freundin vom Flughafen ab.
I will spend the remaining afternoon at the camp ground and this evening I will pick up a friend at the airport.

Capricorn Coast, Gladstone, Bundaberg & Hervey Bay

Am 21.05.16 bin ich den Capricorn Coast Scenic Drive entlanggefahren. Dafür bin ich von Rockhampton nach Yeppoon gefahren, was mein erster Stopp war. Dort bin ich kurz an der Strandpromenade entlanggelaufen. Anschließend bin ich zum Wreck Point Lookout gefahren und dort den Blick über die Capricorn Coast genossen. Dann ging es weiter nach Rosslyn Bay, wo ich etwas an der Marina entlanglief und im Capricorn Coast National Park Double Heads Section zu den Aussichtspunkten auf den Double Heads gelaufen bin. Danach setzte ich mich noch etwas an den Strand.
At the 21st May of 2016 I drove along the Capricorn Coast Scenic Drive. Therefor I drove from Rockhampton to Yeppoon, which was also my first stop. There I did a short walk along the beach Promenade. Afterwards I drove to Wreck Point Lookout and enjoyed the view of the Capricorn Coast there. Then I went to Rosslyn Bay, where I walked along the marina and inside the Capricorn Coast National Park Double Heads Section to the lookouts on top of the Double Heads. After that I sat down at the beach for a while.

Der nächste Stopp war Bluff Point, wo ich eine Rundwanderung inklusive ein paar Aussichtspunkten machte. Anschließend fuhr ich nach Emu Park und sah mir dort das Singing Ship Memorial und das Kriegsdenkmal an. Danach setzte ich mich in einen Park am Wasser und aß Fish n Chips.
The next stop was Bluff Point, where I did a circuit walk including some lookouts. Afterwards I drove to Emu Park and looked at the Singing Ship Memorial and the war Memorial. After that I ate fish n chips in a park next to the sea.

Am späten Nachmittag fuhr ich dann nach Calliope, wo ich die Nacht auf einem kostenlosen Campingplatz verbrachte.
In the late afternoon I drove to Calliope, where I spent the night at a free camp ground.

Am nächsten Tag (22.05.16) fuhr ich nach Gladstone. Dort setzte ich mich an die Marina und fuhr anschließend zum Auckland Hill Lookout in der Stadt. Danach ging es weiter nach Tannum Sands, wo ich am Strand spazieren ging.
The next day (22/05/16) I drove to Gladstone. There I sat down at the marina and drove to Auckland Hill Lookout in the town afterwards. After that I went to Tannum Sands, where I walked along the beach.

Am späten Nachmittag fuhr ich weiter nach Gin Gin, wo ich die Nacht auf einer Rest Area verbrachte.
In the late afternoon I continued my drive to Gin Gin, where I spent the night at a rest area.

Gestern (23.05.16) besuchte ich Bundaberg. Nach einem kurzen Rundgang durchs Stadtzentrum fuhr ich zu Schmeider's Cooperage und schaute mir an wie Fässer von Hand gebaut werden.
Yesterday (23/05/16) I visited Bundaberg. After a short stroll through the city centre I drove to Schmeider's Cooperage and watched how barrels are made by hand.

Im Anschluss besuchte ich die Bundaberg Rum Distillery, schaute mir das Museum an und nahm an einer Tour durch die Distillerie mit späterer Verkostung teil. Vor der Tour mussten alle elektronischen Geräte wegen Explosionsgefahr abgegeben werden. Jamie, unser Tourguide, war echt super! Bei der Verkostung konnte jeder zwei Sorten Rum oder Likör auswählen und diese probieren. Ich probierte einen Kaffee & Schokoladenlikör und 10 Jahre alten Rum.
After that I visited the Bundaberg Rum Distillery, took a look through the Museum and joint a tour through the distillery with a tasting afterwards. Before the tour all electronic devices were collected, because of the hazard of explosions. Jamie, our tour guide, was really good! During the tasting everybody was allowed to choose two drinks, rum or liquor, and try them. I tried coffee and chocolate liquor and ten year old rum.

Nach der Tour fuhr ich zu einer Rest Area nahe Childers, wo ich die Nacht verbrachte. Und ja ich durfte noch fahren.
After the tour I drove to a rest area near Childers, where I spent the night. And yes I was still allowed to drive.

Heute (24.05.16) fuhr ich nach Hervey Bay, wo ich, nachdem ich auf einem Campingplatz eingecheckt hatte an der Marina, am Strand und den Urangan Pier entlanglief. Nach einer kurzen Pause am Pier ging es zurück zum Campingplatz, wo ich den Rest des Tages verbringen werde.
Today (24/05/16) I drove to Hervey Bay, where I , after I checked in at a camp ground, walked along the marina, the beach and the Urangan Pier. After a short break at the pier I walked back to the camp ground and will spent the rest of the day there.

Airlie Beach, Mackay, Rockhampton & National Parks

Am 17.05.16 fuhr ich nach Airlie Beach. Nachdem ich mir das Städtchen angesehen hatte fuhr ich zum Conway Range National Park. Dort machte ich eine Wanderung über den Mount Rooper zur Swamp Bay.
At the 17th of May 2016 I drove to Airlie Beach. After I looked around the small town I drove to Conway Range National Park. There I did a walk over Mount Rooper to Swamp Bay.

Anschließend fuhr ich nach Shute Harbour, von wo aus ich eine weitere Wanderung im Conway Range Nationalpark machte. Diese führte über die Coral Bay zu einem Aussichtspunkt auf der Halbinsel The Beak.
Afterwards I drove to Shute Harbour, from where I started a second walk through the Conway Range National Park. This led me via Coral Bay to a lookout on the peninsula The Beak.

Am nächsten Tag (18.05.16) fuhr ich in den Cape Hillsborough Nationalpark, lief dort am Strand entlang und wanderte zum Twin Beach Lookout. Anschließend fuhr ich nach Mackay, wo ich etwas durch den Queens Park und später an der Marina entlanglief.
The next day (18/05/16) I drove to Cape Hillsborough National Park, walked along the beach there and hiked to Twin Beach Lookout. Afterwards I drove to Mackay, where I walked a bit thorugh Queens Park and later along the marina.

Am Abend fuhr ich noch nach Mirani, wo ich die Nacht auf einem Campingplatz verbrachte.
In the evening I drove to Mirani, where I spent the night at a camp ground.

Gestern (19.05.16) besuchte ich den Eungella National Park, Australiens ältesten Regenwald. Vom Goodes Lookout hatte ich einen tollen Blick über das Pioneer Valley. Anschließend machte ich einige Wanderungen im Nationalpark, u.a. lief ich den Sky Window Circuit, den Granite Bend Circuit und den Pine Grove Circuit entlang.
Yesterday (19/05/16) I visited the Eungella National Park, Australias oldest rainforest. From Goodes Lookout I had a beautiful view across Pioneer Valley. Afterwards I did a couple of walks in the national park, i.e. I walked along the Sky Window Circuit, the Granite Bend Circuit and Pine Grove Circuit.

Am späten Nachmittag fuhr ich nach Carmila, wo ich auch die Nacht verbrachte.
In the late afternoon I drove to Carmila, where I also spent the night.

Heute (20.05.16) fuhr ich nach Rockhampton, wo ich etwas durchs Stadtzentrum lief und anschließend die Rockhampton Botanic Gardens and Zoo besuchte, welche direkt an der Murray Lagoon liegen.
Today (20/05/16) I drove to Rockhampton, where I walked a bit through the town centre and after that visited the Rockhampton Botanic Gardens and Zoo, which are located at Murray Lagoon.
