After I picked up my friend at the airport on monday evening (30/05/16), we drove to Brisbane the next day (31/05/16) and booked us in at a camp ground. In the afternoon we went to the University of Queensland (UQ)(St. Lucia) in Brisbane and took a stroll around the campus and walked along the Brisbane River. In the evening I joint the first meeting of the UQ Herpetological Society, where I was able to talk to a couple of students.
Nach dem Treffen fuhren wir wieder zurück zum Campingplatz und verbrachten dort die Nacht.
After the meeting we drove back to the camp ground and spent the night there.
Am 01.06.16 fuhren wir mit dem Bus zur Brisbane Southbank und anschließend die CityCat (Fähre) zum Riverside Centre. Von dort aus liefen wir über die Story Bridge zum Kangaroo Point, wo wir am Aussichtspunkt eine kleine Pause einlegten.
At the first of June 2016 we took the bus to Brisbane Southbank and then the CityCat (ferry) to the Riverside Centre. From there we walked across the Story Bridge to Kangaroo Point, where we took a short break at the lookout.
Anschließend liefen wir zu den Southbank Parklands und schauten uns diese an.
Afterwards we walked to Southbank Parklands and had a look at those.
Als nächstes liefen wir über den Brisbane River zur Queen Street, gingen dort über den Markt und schauten uns anschließend den botanischen Garten an.
Then we walked across the Brisbane River to Queen Street, took a stroll around the market and looked at the botanic gardens.
Nach dem botanischen Garten holten wir uns auf dem Markt was zu essen, liefen zurück zu den Brisbane Parklands und nahmen den Bus zurück zum Campingplatz, wo wir den Rest des Tages verbrachten.
After the botanic gardens we got some lunch at the market, walked back to the Southbank Parklands and took the bus back to the camp ground, where we spent the rest of the day.
Vorgestern (02.06.16) fuhren wir zum Mount Coot-tha etwas außerhalb von Brisbane, guckten uns Brisbane vom Aussichtspunkt aus an, wanderten zu den J. C. Slaughter Falls (trocken) und weiter zu den Mount Coot-tha Botanic Gardens. Anschließend machten wir einen Rundgang durch den botanischen Garten, um später wieder zum Ausichtspunkt zurückzulaufen.
The day before yesterday (02/06/16) we drove to Mount Coot-tha a bit outside of Brisbane, lokked at Brisbane from the lookout Point, hiked to the J.C. Slaughter Falls (dry) and continued to the Mount Coot-tha Botanic Gardens. After that we took a stroll through the botanic gardens and walked back to the lookout afterwards.
Am Aussichtspunkt haben wir dann auf den Sonnenuntergang im Camper gewartet und uns dann Brisbane bei Nacht angeguckt.
At the lookout we waited for the sunset in the camper and then looked at Brisbane by night.
Gestern (03.06.16) sind wir nach Gympie gefahren, etwas durch die Stadt gelaufen und Burger essen gegangen. Die Nacht haben wir auf einer Rest Area verbracht.
Yesterday (03/06/16) we drove to Gympie, walked a bit through town and had burger for lunch. The night we spent at a rest area.
Heute (04.06.16) ging es weiter nach Rainbow Beach, wo wir am Strand langgelaufen sind und den restlichen Tag, wegen des schlechten Wetters im Camper verbringen werden.
Today (04/05/16) we went to Rainbow Beach where we walked along the beach and we will spent the rest of the day in the camper due to the bad weather.
